Hello and welcome back to another edition of 'Casting...' Today, I have decided to fancast the characters in the MCU's Spider-Man Universe.
Tom Holland's 3rd Spider-Man film is coming this December and is shaping up to be one of the most crazy and stacked live-action Spider-Man films ever.
From rumours of past portrayals returning(Jamie Foxx's Electro, Alfred Molina's Doc Ock etc.), Daredevil arriving in the MCU, etc. It opens a multi-verse of amazing possibilities. That's why I have decided to cast a few of MCU Spider-Man's villains/affiliates for the potential second trilogy.
I started this 'Casting...' back in January of this year, but never felt like finishing it until now.
Giancarlo Esposito as Tombstone
Giancarlo is probably best known to most Gus Fring in 'Breaking Bad' and very recently as Moff Gideon in Disney+ hit series 'The Mandalorian'.
Those two roles alone are why I don't really need to give a reason why he'd be perfect for the role.
Michael Chiklis as Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin
Pretty much the whole of MCU Twitter want Vincent D'Onofrio to reprise his Netflix Daredevil. While that would be cool to see, I'd much rather see someone new in the role. Michael previous played Ben Grimm 'The Thing' in FOX's two early 2000s Fantastic Four films.
Matthew McConaughey as Dr. Connors
Many fans have been fancasting Matthew as Norman Osborn, which would be a great choice, but I think he's a better fit for Dr. Curt Connors.
I recently watched Interstellar for the first time last month and pulled off the scientific perfectly and believably, that 's why I think he should portray the ESU/Oscorp scientist.
Timonthee Chalemet as Harry Osborn
I mainly chose Timonthee as Harry as he looks like he could be the son of the Norman I have chosen, and he could definetley pull off the vindictive attitude after the death of The Green Goblin.
Liev Schreiber as Norman Osborn
One role that Liev has played that resembles Norman quite closely is from the series 'Donovan'. Not to mention his intimidating voice role as Wilson Fisk in 'Into The Spider-Verse '
Evan Rachel Wood as Silver Sable
Evan was the first female I chose in this 'Casting...' after I saw in 'The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman' where she plays Gabi Banyai, using a Romanian accent which could be a great fit for playing the mercenary from Symkaria.
Anya Taylor Joy as Black Cat
(Biased Casting)
Anya became quite popular last year after starring in the hit Netflix series 'The Queen's Gambit and would be a perfect fit for a young, youthful Black Cat interpretation.
Florence Pugh as Tom Holland's Spider-Gwen
(Biased Casting)
Considering she has been cast as Yelena Belova in the long awaited Black Widow solo film, this will never happen, which is upsetting as I think she would've been a perfect choice. Hailee Steinfeld was my original choice before going with Florence.
Daisy Ridley as Spider-Woman
(Biased Casting)
This casting is the only one I'm extremely confident in happening as Daisy has said herself she wants to play the role.
She played Rey in the sequel trilogy of Star Wars and I think this would be amazing next role for her, starring alongside her 'Chaos Walking' co-star Tom Holland.
Lynda Carter as Madame Web
When I originally started this 'Casting...' I chose Joanna Lumley to portray Madame Web, who would still have been great, but after some consideration. I believe Lynda will be a better choice both as the character and just in general.
Lynda ofcourse revolutionised the female superhero world as Wonder Woman back in 1975, a role I think was absolutely immaculate casting, could not get any better than her.
It would be great for her after 40+ years known as the Amazon heroine from Paradise Island, to then debut in the MCU in her 70s as an elder hero.
