#10: The Art of Racing In The Rain
The trailer to this reminded me alot of A Dog's Journey(which was my #3 film of May, this year).
I really liked A Dog's Journey, the emotional story and deep meaning of love between human and dog.
I can honestly say that A Dog's Journey was miles better than TAORITR. It honestly felt too rushed even for a 109 minutes film. Like, you get introduced to Dennis' girlfriend, who then passes away within the first hour.
Also, even though this was slightly realistic compared to ADJ. The zebra hallucination sequence was definitely out of the blue, exaggerated and random.
The scene where Enzo(the dog) ate the pepper, then later poos on Dennis' mother and father-law's carpet in an act of revenge was really funny
I will admit, the voice actor for the dog was miles better than Josh Gad from ADJ.
This should've been 20 minutes shorter.

#9: Angel Has Fallen
I haven't saw the first two. The trailer to this seemed decent, very action packed.
This was quite epic. I enjoyed this alot.
Great OST. Some great, emotional songs.
The scenes between Mike and his dad were good. The relationship between Nick Nolte and Gerad Butler definitely felt real. The scene where they were defending the house was quite funny.
The action scenes were awesome, a little OTT in my opinion
This was enjoyable, but could've been shortened by 10-20 minutes.

#8: Good Boys
I saw this mainly to just fill the 9 films rankings. The trailers to this seemed alright. Not overly funny. I liked SuperBad, that was from the producers who done this film also.
This was okay, the only hysterically funny scene was the paintball shootout.
I honestly think Seth Rogen/Bill Hader should've been the police officer in the convenience store. It would've appropriately tied-in with SuperBad.
I didn't expect Stephen Merchant to show up in this film.
I liked Molly Gordon's performance.
It did have a good message about friendships not lasting forever.
I had an alright time watching this, even though it did lack really funny scenes.

#7: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
I've only ever watched one of Tarantino's films. It was Django Unchained, I enjoyed it. I saw it quite recently too.
The final shot to this came very unexpectedly, in my opinion. The way it diverted my expectation left me saying "That was it?!" I expected it to end with Sharon Tate being murdered, but nope.
I guess the historical twist from the film was "What if the Mansons didn't kill Sharon Tate"
Great acting from Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. Awesome chemistry between DiCaprio and Pitt, definitely sold the relationship of a actor and stuntman being friends for several years.
I was underwhelmed by how little screentime Margot Robbie had.
With all the posters she was on, I was thinking there would've been scenes with Cliff, Rick and Sharon. But, there was none.
Great soundtrack. Especially during the scene where Cliff is looking for George with the sound from the TV acting like '60s background music.
I was surprised by the way it only started getting gorey and grotesque at the climax of the film with Cliff and Rick defending themselves from the home invaders.
The dog attack sequences during the finale reminded me from THE scene in Django Unchained.
This was great, don't get me wrong. I just expected more even though it was nearly 3 hours long.

#6: The Current War
I saw the trailer to this over a month ago, it seemed interesting.
This was honestly really great.
Excellent cinematography, superbly edited.
The funeral of Mary Edison was filmed beautifully with the uncomfortable close-ups and the music softly playing in the background.
The soundtrack was amazing also.
The ending moved me immensely. From the culmination of the feud between George and Thomas to Edison become the creator of motion picture.
I didn't expect to like this as much as I did.

#5: Angry Birds 2
When this franchise first got a film back in 2016, it was way past it's peak in popularity. 6 years too late I might add. Now, it's got a sequel. I didn't enjoy the first film too much.
This, surprisingly, was really funny. From the running gag of the winking seal constantly stealing the antagonist's food to the "Ground Control to Major Tom" scene. Good cheesy, corny fun.
This was very good, especially in 3D.
6.8/10
#4: The Sun Is Also A Star
I literally only found about this when I went to the Angry Birds 2 screening. I mainly wanted to see this as the main setting is New York. I'm a sucker for anything set in the modern New York(TMNT, Spider-Man, etc.)
First things first, the New York cinematography was fucking beautiful.
I LOVED the scene where Daniel and Natasha were the Roosevelt Cable Cart.
The scene was shot so fucking amazingly. The song during that scene was also a great choice.
I did not expect to get emotional during this film. But, fucking hell, the "4 minute stare" at the airport sequence was so heartbreaking.
Stellar soundtrack
Amazing story and meaning. About nothing lasting forever, so live in the moment.
Can not say anything more about how amazing this film was.
9/10
#3: The Playmobil Movie
Initially, I was heistant to watch this as it seemed as if StudioCanal was trying to capture to the success that both LEGO movies achieved.
But, when I found out Anya-Taylor Joy was gonna star in it, I was all for seeing this.
This was surprisingly unfunny and quite boring. I did not expect this to be a musical. Anya's singing was amazing.
Quite honestly, the only redeeming quality to this was Anya.
5/10
#2: Dora and The Lost City of Gold
This was my second Medicinema screening, the previous one was for Into The Spider-Verse, back in December of last year. I mainly wanted to see this because of Isabela Moner.
This was quite fun.
Isabela was great as Dora. Adorkable, always positive. Enjoyed each scene she was in.
Swiper was so funny in each scene he was in. Always ending every sentence with "... , man."
I was really shocked Boots had a voice towards the end of it. Definitely took me by surprise.
All in all, I enjoyed this quite a bit.
9.1/10
#1: Hobbs and Shaw
This was my first film of August.
At the beginning of this year, I was sceptical to watch this, then Roman Reigns was announced to star in this.
I watched the recent 5 installments earlier this year(apart from 8). I overly enjoyed 6 and 7.
I wish this was in 3D.
This was fucking fun. Over the top in all the best ways. All the one-liners were hilarious!
I was surprised how Roman had literally no lines other than his signature "OOOOOOAAAAH!". He was a glorified longated cameo. Which was really disappointing as I am a huge fan of him in WWE.
The "Mike Oxmaul" scene was the funniest scene in the entire film.
The action scenes were excellent. I was a little let down that the 2 credits scenes were literal comedic scenes, no big shocking revelation. But that did not tarnish the film in the slightest.
8.5/10
